Buck's Name Change Fund
Hello! Apologies for the lackluster site, I'm only using Carrd for convenience.Most of you know me as "Buck" which is not my legal name as of right now. My legal name is still my dead name, and changing my dead name is the last step in my transition process.Unfortunately, the name change is going to be very, very expensive. I do not have a steady income, and getting a job is not possible for me at the moment because I do not have a reliable form of transportation.I don't want to use GoFundMe as that would require I use my current dead name. I am very, very uncomfortable with others knowing my dead name, and I would only use something that requires showing it as a last resort.That being said, I fully promise you that any money you give to me, whether it be through donations or through buying goods and services from me, will only be used to help fund my name change process.For full transparency's sake, my bank account does take out a $4 fee every month, and Apple takes out an additional $3.99 for a fee of some kind as well. But other than that, nothing given to me as a donation will be used for any expenses unrelated to my name change.
How far am I into transition?
If you're curious, I have been taking testosterone since May 14th of 2022, I had a hysterectomy on July 19th of 2023, and I got my gender marker changed shortly after my surgery.As you can probably imagine, having a feminine first and middle name can potentially be a problem when your ID says "M" and you have a beard.Not only is this name change necessary for legally transitioning, but it is also a safety measure now that I pass.
So how much will this be, exactly?
I don't have an exact estimate, but it's going to be roughly $500 USD. Possibly more if I need to hire a lawyer to help with the legal process.A name change in my state is a VERY long, expensive, and complicated process.Anything you give me helps and is greatly appreciated.
